Spring Meeting Schedule of Events

7:00 am to 10:00 am Coffee, donuts, social
10:00 am to 11:30 am Farmer First Aid
Farmer to farmer training on what to have on hand and what to do for calving issues, slow calves, shots, castrating, etc.
10:00 am to 11:30 am Beef Panel Discussion
Long time Highland beef producers talk about what works and doesn't work in raising, finishing, and selling Highland beef.
11:30 am to 12:00 pm Break: silent auction, photo viewing/voting
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Lunch: sandwiches and potluck
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm John Kahlberg of Silvana Meats
John discusses the process of working with your butcher to provide quality Highland beef for your customers and how the current beef market may effect us.
2:00 pm to 2:30 pm Open question and answer period
2:30 pm to 3:00 pm Break: silent auction, photo viewing/voting
3:00 pm to 4:00 pm General Membership meeting
4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Break: photo contest, final chance on silent auction 
5:00 pm to ? Dinner: barbecue beef ribs prepared by Skagit County Cattleman's Association

Items to Bring
Please bring items for the silent auction - anything of value that your fellow members will bid like crazy for.
All silent auction proceeds benefit the NWHCA treasury.
Bring your favorite photos of your cattle for the photo contest. Prizes are awarded!

Food to bring
Bring a dish to share with everyone for lunch.

Driving Directions
Take I-5 to Exit 232 (Cook Road). Turn right off the exit going east, stay on Cook Road through first light 
and continue almost 5 miles to next traffic light at the intersection of Cook Road and Highway 20. Turn left 
onto Highway 20 (North Cascades Highway) through Sedro Woolley. Approximately 5 miles east of 
Sedro Woolley, watch for Sims Road veering to the right. Go 1/4 mile; the Winery is on the left.

The NWHCA Spring Meeting will be held in the first building on the left.
